How it works

Four steps from the world map to your Passport.

World Quest turns a city into an expedition you walk. Open and free. Your photos and locations stay private.

Choose a city on the world map

24 city expeditions sit on an illustrated world map. Tap one to open its map.

City map with lettered stops

Walk to the lettered stops

A city’s map has lettered stops; some are optional side quests. Open any stop in your maps app to get there.

Capture it, then ask the guide

Capture each stop on site. Read the guide for the place, or ask it anything. For opening hours it checks the web and shows you the page it read.

Help

Questions

Is World Quest free?
Yes. The app is open and free to play in all 24 cities. You create a free account to start.
Do I have to visit every stop?
No. A city has its stops, and some are optional side quests: Barcelona has 10 stops and 2 side quests. Play as much of a city as you like.
How does capturing a stop work?
When you reach a stop, capture it from its card on the map. Your location confirms you were there.
Who can see my photos and location?
Nobody else. Your photos and locations stay private. The app has a register of walkers that shows a name, a level and points, and you choose whether other walkers see you there.
Can I play before I travel?
Yes. Locate, Word search, Flashcards and Memory teach you a city’s places before you go, or test you after.
What is a challenge run?
A timed run through a city’s stops, for when you want to race the clock. Some cities have one.
How do I get to the next stop?
Open the stop in your maps app for directions from where you are.
Which languages does it speak?
English, Spanish and Catalan.

Your first expedition is a walk away.
